Fun in the sun for all the family
Join the Parks Outreach team for lots of fun events taking place in parks across the borough. Featuring a Teddy Bears' Picnic, kite making, drumming workshops, face painting, treasure hunts and lots, lots more - there'll be something for everyone to enjoy. Healthy Borough Fundraising Programme
Account3 will be working with us to deliver a number of fundraising support workshops. The workshops are designed to support and encourage projects that have been funded by the Healthy Borough Programme to apply for further funding to sustain their work.
All workshops will be followed up with a one-to-one session and online or telephone based support designed to review funding applications and develop partnership bids. There are five workshops planned, and they are taking place on:

Wednesday 11 August, 10.30am - 1.30pm
Thursday 26 August, 10.30am -1.30pm
Tuesday 14 September, 6 - 9pm
Thursday 30 September, 2 - 5pm

Get set for a Healthy Borough Summer and join the Healthy Borough team as we launch our summer campaign. A unique and free multi-art form festival showcasing the best of East London, encouraging the audience to participate and featuring both homegrown and international music, theatre, street arts, spectacle, circus, dance, design and crafts, children’s activities, food stalls and Carter’s Steam Fair. Festival Highlights include Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Centre Jazz Orchestra, the UK premier of ‘Wishful’, a site specific night time spectacular created in Tower Hamlets and T Mobile's Big Dance Count Down will see the best of East London’s Dance Talent transforming the bandstand and beyond.

National Family Week

National Family Week is the UK's biggest annual celebration of family life aiming to highlight the importance of quality time together and promote the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. National Family Week represents the largest coalition on family issues in the UK, working with hundreds of partners and supporters from major national charities to community organisations to help bring families together. The Healthy Borough Programme will be supporting a number of events and activities throughout the borough for children and families. These include:

A Baishakhi Mela in Banglatown, Brick Lane

Join the Healthy Borough team at A Baishakhi Mela in Banglatown Brick Lane, the largest celebration of the Bangla New Year outside of South Asia. This huge annual community celebration of music, performance and dance in the streets around Brick Lane is a key event in Tower Hamlets’ cultural calendar. With a wide range of music and entertainment across three music stages in Weavers Fields and Allen Gardens, a new Mela Family Zone, food and stalls and a colourful procession along Brick Lane the Mela offers a programme that will appeal to all.
